Have you ever felt burned out? Perhaps you’ve been hearing the term “functional burnout” more often, and you’re curious about what it means. As someone who has experienced functional burnout myself, I can tell you that it’s a serious issue that can affect every aspect of your life.

Now, you might be thinking, “Is functional burnout really that big of a deal? Can’t I just power through it?” Well, here’s what functional burnout can look like:

  • Your energy levels are disappearing
  • Your sleep is not great
  • You’re sick with every bug or virus that’s going around… all the time!
  • You have brain fog
  • General aches and pains
  • Digestive issues

You may also experience symptoms like difficulty regulating your body temperature, a drop in libido, and for women, menstrual irregularities. If any of these sound familiar, it’s time to take action.

For me, I found that I had to work longer and harder to get everything done. I would spend any downtime or holidays, sleeping. I would be dragging myself out of bed for even the things I loved to do. Then came the weight gain and the eat less, move more ‘hamster wheel’. Is this you?

I understand that you might be sceptical or feel like you don’t have time to address your burnout. You may also not feel like your symptoms are severe enough to warrant intervention. However, I want to assure you that functional burnout is a real issue, and it’s not something that will go away on its own.

You may also have concerns about trusting me or my approach. Rest assured that I have personal experience with burnout. I use personalised health techniques and evidence-based methods to help my clients.
